Ghanaians Deserve Better, Vote PPP For Peace

We the Youth of Progressive People’s Party wish to indicate that the political leadership in this country have failed to provide concrete measures to ensure that there will be absolute peace in Ghana, before, during and after the December 7th elections. It is quite sad to note that, just few days after the signing of the peace agreement in Kumasi by flagbearers of the political parties, incidents of violent clashes among political party loyalist have been recorded in some strongholds of the NDC and NPP. We expect Presidential candidates of the so called Big parties NPP/NDC to call their supporters who are bent on creating fear and panic in the country to order.
It is disgraceful that none of the Presidential candidates apart from Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom have so far censured their out-of-control supporters who are reported by the media to have been engaged in acts of violence. In this election, we expect the institutions of state like the police to perform its constitutional mandate without fear or favour. It is our hope and prayer that the police service as well as other security agencies will act with the utmost professionalism to ensure that lives, personal property and national assets is not smashed during this election.
Our observation of political events in the ominous election reveals underground conspiracies on the part of the NPP and the NDC to unleash mayhem and violence, thereby plunging the nation into a state of political instability whose outcome will be unbearable for many especially the vulnerable in society. This has manifested itself in the numerous tape recordings we have heard in recent times.
It is worrying to note the pockets of clashes have been recorded between the NDC and NPP just few days into the general elections. Recent among them is the Kyebi, Manhyia and Agbogbloshie incidents that happened over the weekend. We are very concerned that the famous ‘‘all die be die’’ by the NPP and the blatant response from the NDC to be ready and respond in like manner, will only put the entire nation into political crisis. Politicians in Ghana should understand that what happened at Bawku, Yendi, Akwatia, Atiwa, Tain, Tamale Central, Odododiodio and other constituencies between the NPP and NDC cannot be countenanced any longer.
We want our politicians to be mindful of the fact that no Ghanaian wants to listen to and experience these conflicts again. But what again happened during this just-ended Biometric Voter Registration exercise leaves a lot of Ghanaians to be worried and concerned about the impending election.
Clearly one can say without qualms that the NDC and NPP are in a frenzied race to raise ethnocentric flames and incite their supposed individual ethnic strongholds. As Progressive-minded youth, we appeal to and implore all stakeholders in the country to take note of these developments and preserve the peace of the country by for voting PPP.
It is important for the political parties to know that in any election, either one will win or loose and that the politicians must begin to educate and prepare their supporters on this reality so as to counteract any pessimistic episode that will create needless apprehension and distress whenever the nation goes for elections.
We are calling on all Presidential candidates to note that whoever emerges as the winner should summarily show prime of life and avoid statements that will be interpreted negatively by losing candidates. The losers on their part must accept the outcome of the election as the choice of Ghanaians, congratulate the winner and assure their supporters that there will be another opportunity next time.
The PPP is ready and poised to take up the mantle of leadership of this country; we exhort all Ghanaians to stand up to resist the pressures of the NPP and the NDC.
Lets us all unite and stop the preaching of these ethnocentric tendencies, chaos and bloodshed that is being insinuated by these two parties.

Long Live Ghana
Long Live the Progressive Forces
Long Live the Peace of Ghana
