General Overseer of the Jesus Generational Ministries and a member of the Pentecostal Council of Ghana, Rev. Anyani Boadum has said, politicians are taking Ghanaians for granted because we are politically uneducated.
According to the renowned man of God, some politicians who use abusive language, incite people and exhibit extreme antagonism do so because, they've realized that citizens are not educated politically.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Rev. Boadum said, there is the need for political education and cadre development, so citizens are enlightened to prevent indiscipline in our body politics. He explained that the situation has infested the minds of citizens who have accepted violence, antagonism and abusive language as part of politics.
This he opined is an affront to the democracy and decent politics. Politicians he emphasized, are tearing the nation apart and until steps are taken to rectify this canker, we will regret.
Political science and education he said should not be for a selected few, rather it should benefit every single Ghanaian. Rev. Anyani Boadum questioned the level of politics the next generation would practice, considering the polarized atmosphere we currently see in Ghana.
He charged political parties to take the mantle by establishing political institutions to train members of their ideologies like what the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah did in establishing the Kwame Nkrumah Ideological College.
Ghana he added is practicing a hawkish political attitude failing to raise descent politicians. This he stressed is dangerous and a threat to security and the unity of this country.
