The Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Alex Afenyo- Markin says Ghanaians are part of Ghana’s problems since most people do not allow the systems to work.

Expressing worry about this attitude, Hon. Afenyo-Markin said life is very different abroad because citizens support the systems therefore making the work of the government very easy.

“As a country we have not allowed our governments to put systems in place for our own benefit. We are always talking about life abroad; what is there? The only difference is that they allow the systems to work. So far this government has been bold. In spite of the backlash, in spite of the criticisms and in spite of the political costs, the NPP is taking bold decisions by putting serious measures in place to ensure that the right things are done. If we have allowed systems to work, problems such as mobile money fraud would have been a thing of the past”, he lamented.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa fm on Monday, Hon. Afenyo- Markin blamed his fellow politicians for not pushing hard to support certain reforms and as such cautioned them to put politics aside when issues of national development are being discussed.

He said failure to put systems in place is now costing Ghana and therefore appealed to the general public to support the National Identification exercise.
