Greater Accra Regional TEIN pledge support to President

Accra, Nov. 16, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of NDC on Tuesday pledged their support to President J.E.A. Mills for his good works, wisdom, knowledge and understanding in leading the country. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Dr David Yaoga Sunu, President, said: "Ghanaians must remember that Professor Mills' led government and the NDC are focused and no amount of opposition can divert their focus."

It called on the supporters and sympathisers of the Party to disabuse their minds of the notion that there is no unity among them due to the controversy surrounding Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings' perceived Presidential ambition, and some statements made by Former President Jerry John Rawlings calling for justice. It said: "Former President Rawlings has finally cleared the air that his incessant calls for justice must not be misconstrued as an attempt to usurp the powers of President Mills. He stated clearly that neither he nor his wife has any interest in the Presidency."

"The Greater Accra Regional TEIN wishes to congratulate the Founder, Former President Rawlings for clearing the air and setting the tone for unity talks in the party for victory 2012," the statement said. "We must, therefore, all come together, sit around the table protected by the Akatamanso and resolve all differences to ensure unity, stability and development of our great NDC party.

"Clearly, the stage is set for a strongly united NDC to move straight to victory in 2012. Ghanaians all over can see and feel the Better Ghana Agenda we are championing and would definitely give us the mantle in 2012 to govern as long as we demonstrate the ability to unite." The statement said: "Let us all rise above the factionalism and remember that there is only one leader, one founder, one ideology and one NDC.

"We therefore call on all members of the NDC to stand firm to defend the principles of our great party at all cost and work diligently to promote the Better Ghana Agenda of President Mills' administration." 16 Nov. 10
