The Flagbearer of Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) Dr. Henry Lartey has dispelled allegations that the party is a sidekick to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He further discounted claims that he and his party are doing the bidding of the NDC, hence his frequent bashing of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He admitted that though the Flagbearer of NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are his friends, he will not hesitate to chastise them when they go wrong.

The presidential hopeful indicated that he cannot side with members of NPP if they are throwing dust in the eyes of the public with their ‘unrealistic’ promises.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he said he bears no grudges against leadership of the NPP.

‘Please don’t even go there,…we are thinking of pushing Ghana forward, stop living in the reality of NPP, we are here with the politics.

Nana Addo and Bawumia are my friends but Ghana first, if they say something which is not good I will say it, and if they are saying something which is good, I will support it’ a livid Dr. Lartey explained.

He assured that he will ensure that Ghanaians earn good money, have good system of living where their children will have a better future.

Asked if he has links with the NDC, he retorted ‘I have links in NDC and NPP; in fact I have more friends in NPP than NDC, because of the school I went to and my background. Most of my people are from the upper class society, we know more people in NPP than NDC. Is somebody controlling me now, is somebody pushing me to say what am saying now,’ he asked.

He stated that his party cannot be classified as a smaller party.

‘What do you mean by smaller political parties, who decides what a smaller party is, my friend stop talking that way it’s a wrong ideology,’ he fumed.
