"I don’t know if NPP has been cursed…"

A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asamoah Gyamfi has said, if the party really wants to win the next presidential polls in 2016, then unity must be sustained in the party.

According to him, individuals dragging the party’s image into disrepute must cease from that since the main focus of the 'elephant party' now is to kick out the Mahama-led NDC government from power.

He stressed that, the New Patriotic Party is the only alternative capable of re-invigorating the hopes of Ghanaians.

Speaking on Asempa FM on Saturday, the NPP leading member described as baseless a statement he claimed to have leaked; insisting on the party’s Chief Scribe, Kwabena Agyapong to re-reinstate two party officials; Perry Okudzeto and Opare Hammond.

The committee set up by the Steering Committee of the NPP on Wednesday recommended that the acting Director of Communication, Perry Okudzeto and Director of Finance and Administration, Opare Hammond be reinstated after thorough investigations.

But according to Mr. Asamoah Gyamfi, whoever leaked the statement which has been disregarded by the party’s General Secretary should bow their heads in shame.

“The problem is the party member who released the thing [Statement]. I don’t want to attack anyone. What was the intention…to embarrass the national chairman or the general secretary? No, the person is rather embarrassing the party,” he said.

He decried that NPP’s major problem is “both the old and the young are lawless sometimes. I don’t know whether NPP has been cursed. The image NPP is portraying really shows that they are not ready for power. If we really want to win power, then this nonsense must stop.”
