The Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pointed out his leadership skills from his tenure as vice president. He described himself as a “brand new tear rubber” leader, who is ready to take on challenges with a fresh perspective.

Speaking at the Kasoa Odekro Palace on September 2, 2024, at a stakeholder engagement, Dr. Bawumia emphasised his achievements and positioned himself as a transformative leader prepared to bring new life into the presidency.

Dr. Bawumia addressed his 33 important policies and made reference to the former president John Dramani Mahama’s lack of a comparable record.

“I have implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them,” Dr. Bawumia voiced out.

He commented, drawing a contrast between his future leadership and that of the former president.”I am a Vice President so if you vote for me, you will get a brand-new tear rubber President. When you vote for the former president, you will get home used secondhand President.”
