Former Ashanti Regional Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Yamin has revealed he never lobbied for any position in government when the party took power in 2009.
“I do not have a Godfather in politics so I did not lobby for any appointment when we came into power. The President extended me an invite to serve as deputy minister of Youth and Sports “the former NDC regional Secretary revealed on Ultimate FM’s morning show.
“It was the late P.V. Obeng who requested for my CV and the next day I was named as deputy minister of Youth and Sports designate” he stated.
Commenting on Dr. Otchere Addae-Mensah’s refusal to accept an appointment from the President as Director of Ghana Standard Authority, Joseph Yamin who also became Deputy Ashanti Region said Dr. Addia Mensah took a good decision to reject the appointment for his constant criticisms of Nana Akufo-Addo as flagbearer then.
According to immediate past deputy NADMO coordinator, Dr. Otchere Addae-Mensah does not have a Godfather to lobby for his appointment warning that if he had accepted the position offered him, it was likely that members of NPP will sabotage him for obvious reasons.
Mr. Joseph Yammin who is aspiring to lead the NDC in the region as chairman said the appointment of Dr. Addae Mensah and Awal Mohammed as acting communications director for YEA is abnormal in the sense that those who passed through thick and thin to bring NPP into power have still not had positions.
“Though I am not against the appointment of Awal Mohammed who has insulted Nana Akufo-Addo timeless but has been given position now while those staying in the party have gotten nothing”
