I laugh whenever I hear NPP's 85% target claim - NDC Nhyiaeso Chairman

The Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ernest Afayam, popularly known as Nhyiaeso Commando, has said that he always laughs out loud whenever he hears the NPP's claim of targeting 85% of votes in the Ashanti Region.

He said he wonders why a woefully failed political party like the NPP could build such a castle in the air, especially within its so-called stronghold region, where most of the electorates have given up.

According to him, since the commencement of democratic elections in 1992 to date, the NPP has never secured 80% of votes; hence, the abysmal performance of the NPP can never guarantee them the 85% they claim.

"How can you secure 85% at this time when you have totally destroyed the economy to bring hardship on Ghanaians, especially those in the Ashanti Region? It will never happen anywhere. Anyway, the only thing I see is that they want to mention such figures to comfort themselves."

"They cannot even get up to 80%. Well, I know they are saying this to comfort themselves, like I rightly said earlier, even though you can verbally build a castle in the air without anyone harming you," he said.

He further disclosed that the people of the Ashanti Region are angry at the party and its leaders due to the level of incompetence they have exhibited.

He mentioned some stalled projects, such as the Krofrom Market and Kejetia Phase II, among others, as the major reasons for which the people are angry at the NPP.

According to him, apart from the party's failure to provide the people with jobs and good governance, it has also failed to continue the market projects that were started by the previous governments.

He continued that the NDC remained focused on its determination to redeem Ghanaians from this current hardship, adding that the party was working hard and would never be distracted by attention seekers who only brag without an output.

He, however, advised his fellow party men to think Ghana first and work in unity in order to ensure a massive victory.

"We'll do Ghanaians harm if we fail to work hard to redeem them from this hellfire we are currently suffering," he added.
