Deputy Minister-designate for Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin, has expressed gratitude to President Mahama for making him part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Without mincing words, he said the NDC boasts of equally brilliant and competent persons for the top post, so he is ever grateful to the President for the honour done him.
Mr. Yammin promised to do all in his power to help the President Mahama-led NDC administration to accomplish the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ so as to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
According to him, the President has reposed confidence in him and he would go the extra mile to deliver to help bring glory to the President, the NDC government, his family, supporters and to himself.
He made the promise when members of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Millennium Supporters Union visited him to wish him well over the nomination.
The occasion was when Mr Yammin organized the annual mini party in his residence for NDC communicators in the Ashanti Region to mark the Easter festivities on Sunday.
He expressed delight over the opportunity to work under Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, the Minister of Youth and Sports, describing his boss as “a nice and accommodating person”.
He said Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah is hard working, objective and trustworthy, stressing that with total support from all and sundry, he and his boss would transform the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ibrahim Nasiu, Financial Secretary of the Millennium Supporters Union, Ashanti Region, on his part, praised President Mahama for honouring Mr Yammin, saying, “He has satisfied the wishes of thousands of NDC supporters across the country”.
He tasked Mr Yammin to remain humble and stay in peace with those that he would work with at the ministry, notably his boss Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah, to help promote sports in Ghana.
