New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle Constituency Phillip Addison says he is unfazed by whoever the National Democratic Congress (NDC) selects to face him in the 2016 parliamentary elections.
The popular lawyer on Saturday beat former constituency chairman Valentino Ni Noi Nortey to win the ticket to lead NPP's march to reclaim the seat from the NDC.
The polls on Saturday came off after an earlier one held in August, 2015 was annulled by an Accra High Court. That won was won by Mr Nortey.
The same controversy that the NPP seems to have scaled over is saddling the NDC as the candidature of NDC’s Dr Zanetor Rawlings is also under legal challenge after incumbent Nii Armah Ashietey accused her of not eligible to exercise her franchise in Ghana.
But Mr Addison says: “I knew I was going to face the NDC. So I am prepared to meet anybody they bring forward.”
He has expressed commitment to rake in supporters of his sole contender ahead of the national elections.
“I am going to make every attempt to try and rake them in because that is what a leader should do; to try and bring everybody on board.”
