The flag-bearer of the Independent Peoples Party (IPP), Kofi Akpaloo says he will run Ghana like a business should he be elected the president in the 2016 elections.
“Countries like Ghana that is not being run business-like are suffering”, he pointed out, insisting, “Ghana should be run like a business and I will run Ghana like a business”.
The IPP leader was sharing his thoughts on the ongoing power crisis in the country on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa hosted by Bright Asempa Wednesday.
He promised to “solve dumsor in two months. In less than two months, I will solve the power crisis because the government has done well with the generation”.
Mr. Akpaloo stressed that generation is not a problem because government has procured Karpower, Ameri power among others that use crude. But “our problem now is ECG and if I were the President I will sack all the staff of ECG because they are not performing”.
He explained that “ECG doesn’t have a competitor in Ghana, yet it always run at a loss. We need different people to come and do the work”.
The IPP flagbearer said because the country’s generating plants run on crude, which is expensive, “I will increase electricity tariff periodically or annually to be able to run it effectively”.
