Firebrand journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr has stated that he finds it very strange that President Akufo Addo invited former President Rawlings and John Mahama to hold discussions about the country.

In a move that was considered a bit shocking albeit patriotic by most Ghanaians, President Akufo Addo last Tuesday decided to hold round table discussions with the former presidents including John Agyekum Kufuor.

He stated that the purpose of the meeting was to seek their views was on “some governance-enhancing measures Akufo-Addo’s administration intends to take.” Speaking on Radio Gold, Mr Pratt said it was quite interesting that Nana Addo will seek the council of the same people he called corrupt and incompetent.

“It is interesting that former president John Dramani Mahama and Jerry John Rawlings are being invited to sit around a table to discuss with an NPP government the state of our national economy; that’s an interesting thing.

If you go into the records, you will find that former President Rawlings was accused of gross incompetence in the management of the national economy; former President Mahama was also accused of gross incompetence of the management of the national economy and so this meeting what was it all about?" "Was it to tap into the incompetence of former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Mahama; I find it very very strange” he continued to ask.
