The Minister of Health, Dr Benard Okoe Boye has accused the National Democratic Congress of undermining the credibility and integrity of the Electoral Commission. (EC)
He noted that the recent by-election held in the Assin North Constituency where the NDC retained its seat was supervised by Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the EC.
"With this Jean Mensah, we went to a by-election and an opposition party retained a seat, that was previously with us. These are signals that you see that tells you that if your strategy is right, if your strategy is right and the people should go in your direction. With Bawumia as the Chair of the Police Council the Police went to Assin North and watched NDC take the seat. I am just saying this to give Ghanaians comfort that, Jean Mensah, The Jean, I know at IEA, people can say all kind of things but the will of the people, what we overwhelmingly want for Ghana will happen. I have seen governments come and go but this time the will of the people, which I believe is Dr Bawumia will happen. If it is JM, it will happen", he noted in a panel discussion on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
