The John Dramani Mahama (JDM) Ladies, a non governmental organisation, has urged the President of the land to remain focus and to concentrate on the development of the nation.
They said President John Dramani Mahama should not be swayed by the ongoing election petition case at the Supreme Court.
The President of the JDM Ladies, Madam Joyce Aboliga, making the call at the weekend in Bolgatanga on the occasion of the group’s first anniversary celebration, pledged their unflinching support to President John Dramani Mahama.
She said as part of the women wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), members of the JDM Ladies were solidly behind the President and his administration.
She also entreated the President to put up pragmatic measures to monitor all Government initiatives including the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), the Zongo Development Initiatives and the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).
Madam Aboliga said their overall objective was to empower women to become good politicians occupying positions such as assemblywomen, unit committee members, district chief executives, regional ministers and members of parliament.
“We will also support our colleagues, who have not acquired formal education, to get skill in vocational training to establish themselves”, the President said.
She said they would never be part of any conspiracy and said they disassociated themselves from the recent attempt by some groups, who claimed to be members of the NDC, calling for changes in political leadership of the Municipality.
“We the JDM Ladies shall remain resolute to the development of women, children and the party as a whole. We will not allow ourselves to be used by any selfish individuals, to disrupt the peace and stability of the country”, she said.
