It appears the fate of the Adansi Asokwa Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. K.T. Hammond currently imbalanced as some youth of Adansi Asokwa have categorically stated they are not going to vote for him in the December 7 elections.

The youth who have shown mistrust in the incumbent Member of Parliament say he is not performing to task hence they will vote for an alternative candidate in the coming polls.

A member of the aggrieved youth, Ignatius Kyei who spoke to Kapital News said it has gotten to their notice that he [K. T. Hammond] “is going around through the media stations and bragging that he has been able to develop the constituency, as I speak with you right now even his own place in the township of Adansi Asokwa, they don’t even have a single toilet facility in that town so how can he claim that he’s been able to develop other towns.”

According to Ignacious, year in and year out they are been forced to vote for K.T. Hammond with the excuse of him being an NPP member but they are not going by that message this year.

“We were blind folded that we are part of the NPP so we should vote for him and this message goes around every four years; that he is an NPP and we are NPP members and so we should vote for him and we are not going to follow that information again because we have gotten to know that K. T Hammond is not performing and as result of that he is not allowing anyone to contest him during the primaries.”

He said even though “K.T. Hammond claims that he has constructed roads”, the only he has constructed for the past 16 years in office is “only a two kilometer road from Adansi Asokwa to Agyenkwaso that he has constructed and even that road is not in a good condition.”

The youth alleged that K.T. Hammond only work when its election time in order for him to canvass for votes but they are not going buy into that this time around because they are going to vote for the independent candidate contesting the area.

“…he has started extending electricity to some towns and villages in the area just to canvass for votes, moreover we are giving our support to the independent candidate, Richard Oduro Anokye because of the false allegations that we found out that K.T.Hammond is leveling against him.”
