The murder trial of Ben Lord Ababio, the man suspected of killing a military officer at Kasoa in the Central Region, has been adjourned.
A myjoyonline.com report indicates that the Accra High Court decided to adjourn the trial due to the judge’s dissatisfaction with the number of jurors empanelled.
According to the report, the court presided over by Justice Kizita Naa Koowah Quarshi, has issued an order for the re-empanelling of the jurors to ensure the fairness of the trial.
The accused has the right to reject some of the jurors, the report added.
The case is expected to resume on December 18, 2024, when the jurors are properly empanelled.
It will be recalled that Ben Lord Ababio, aka Nana Barima, and Nana Kofi Amo Gyekye, aka Nana Fiifi, were apprehended by the police for their roles in the murder of Lance Corporal Michael Danso of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Ababio and Gyekye are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder for allegedly being the orchestrators of the crime that shook the nation.
While Ababio has been on remand since the incident in April, Gyekye has been granted a GH₵1 million bail.
