‘Ken Agyapong should be mindful of his utterances’

Re-elected Central Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan, has asked outspoken NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, to be mindful of some of his utterances.

According to him, most of the NPP kingpin's statements are creating tension in the party instead of bringing unity.

Kennedy Agyapong has accused all the national executives of the NPP of not only being corrupt but thieves as well.

He openly accused the National Chairman of the party, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey and his Special Assistant of allegedly embezzling a whopping amount of GHC100, 000 belonging to the party.

To add fuel to the already burning fire, the outspoken Member of Parliament promised to cause a split in the party and ensure their electoral defeat and form his own political party if Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey is re-elected in the upcoming national elections of the party.

As if that is not enough, he has vowed to resign from parliament and the NPP if he is sanctioned in any way for his recent utterances.

Kwamena Duncan, bewildered by these comments said “we plead with Kennedy Agyepong to be careful with his comments because he has a lot of people who admire him; making such comments raises tension in the party”

He suggested that “any grievance he (Kennedy) has, should be channeled through the National Executive Committee (NEC), adding, if everyone is to take the path he (Kennedy) has chosen, NPP will be divided. No matter what the issue may be, it can be solved. You cannot destroy a party you have worked so hard for; this country needs this party and so we need to work towards coming together.”
