Polling Stations executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ketu South Constituency have expressed great dissatisfaction at the conduct of their Constituency Chairman and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), calling for their resignation and removal.

The angry polling station executives who addressed the media in Agbozume in the Volta Region yesterday have vowed to drop their support for the party in the coming elections if their petition is not heeded to.

Addressing journalists, Macfamous Kudoloh, polling station Secretary, who as flanked by the polling station executives indicated that Hon. Eden Elliot Agbenorwu and Wisdom Samuel Doe Haligah, the Ketu South MCE and Constituency Chairman respectively have exhibited “gross misconduct, and disrespect to party members.”

According to him, the conduct being exhibited by these two personalities created disunity within the party and the party strength in the constituency is gradually dwindling.

“For that matter they must honourably resign their positions to save the party,” he stated.

Commenting on the MCE, Hon. Eden Elliot Agbenorwu, he alleged that there have been misappropriations of Assembly funds which the MCE has failed to account for.

Macfamous Kudoloh pointed out that an Auditor's report which was released last year indicated a loss of GhC98,000.00 from the Assembly’s account.
“Till today, no account has been rendered by the MCE regarding how this whooping sum of money was spent,” he said.

He also averred that conditions at the Assembly are leading credence to the fact that the MCE, Hon. Eden Elliot Agbenorwu cannot manage the resources of the Assembly well.

“So we are calling on him to honourably resign,” he said, adding that the MCE has also turned the Assembly into a haven for NDC sympathiser who wishes nothing but the downfall of the party.

He mentioned that most government contracts which came through the Assembly have all been awarded to known NDC sympathizers in the constituency.
This development, the executives consider a betrayal of trust with NPP sympathizers who worked tirelessly for the party to win the 2016 elections.

“Go to most of the schools we have here and you will be surprised to note that school feeding contracts in those schools have been awarded to NDC members."

He admitted however that although Elliot Agbenorwu did not make it through during his vetting to become the MCE, he managed to assume that position because “he used the back door.”

He also intimated that, there have been several occasions when the MCE refused to pay attention to their demands hence, attacking their credibility as leaders in the various polling stations.

Macfamous Kudoloh also averred that the party hold in the constituency is no stronger due to the poor leadership skills being exhibited by both the MCE and the Constituency Chairman and called on the party leadership to as a matter of urgency, address the brewing tension.

Adding his voice to their demands, Ben Sedewordzi, a polling station chairman also averred that the Constituency Chairman is unfit to lead them and must be removed.

He indicated that the Constituency Chairman on September 27, 2018 was heard on Holy Fm insulting and attacking the polling station executives, a development he stated “cannot be tolerated anymore.”

“We want to say that this is the time for us to unite towards 2020. The NPP as a party must look ahead and see how best it can mobilize the grassroots for victory so the conducts of the Chairman will not help us if elections are to be held today,” he said.

He stressed that everything must be done to ensure sanity in the constituency.
