Klottey Korle NDC executives unhappy with happenings

The executives of the Klottey Korle constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have observed with some level of discomfort the recent happenings in the constituency.

In a press release signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Bashiru Nii Narh Alema, Mr. Dizzy Quaye, Secretary and Mr. Emmanuel Ashaley Tetteh, Communication Director and copied to the GNA, it called for calm and support for the parliamentary candidate-elect.

It stated: “While we salute our members for the exemplary conduct and the uncommon maturity exhibited before, during and immediately after the primaries, we wish to register our discomfort with some events over the last couple of days and call for a cease fire and the return of all parties and stakeholders in the current feud to the roundtable to plan together as one family with a common destiny and interest.”

“We wish to avert the minds of our members to the fact that all those who contested were vetted by the vetting committee headed by the General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketsia and duly cleared to contest,” adding that; “with the primaries over the constituency now has a legitimately and duly elected parliamentary candidate in the person of Dr Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings.

“We acknowledge the constitutional rights of our members as citizen of Ghana to seek redress of matters that borders their minds, however, we appeal to all our members to be mindful of the implication of certain actions on our forward march as a party in the constituency and called for total support for the duly elected candidate,” it stated.

The statement said the NDC had won the Klottey Korle seat two times coupled with the many gigantic achievements of the Government; “we are more than confident of retaining the seat for the party.”
