Kofi Adams is selfish; Rawlings must dismiss him - Seth Birikorang

Central Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Mr. Seth Birikorang has asked Kofi Adams, National Organizer of the opposition NDC to turn over a new leaf.

At a press conference held on Monday, the Regional Communications Director described Kofi Adams as selfish and a propagandist.

He further noted that Kofi Adams who once played a key role in the NDP decided to break away to satisfy his inordinate desire to enrich himself.

"A person who never held any sensitive position in government could amass so much wealth and acquired such an expensive fleet of vehicles must have greatly surprised the good people of Ghana," he said.

According to him, Kofi Adams’ sudden wealth was a surprise to many Ghanaians, and admonished the ruling government to crack the whip on him and any other former government officials found guilty of looting the nation.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if he is indeed found guilty because if he was able to help form the National Democratic Party (NDP) while still a member of the NDC to satisfy his inordinate desire for quick self-enrichment, then there is nothing he wouldn’t do to attain his current status,” he indicated.

The former NDC chairman, who doubles as Central Regional director of communications for the NDP, described Mr. Adams as “selfish and a false propagandist” who has never helped anyone including those whose services he sought in effort to achieve his political agenda.

“I together with two others were brutalised and assaulted by NDC foot-soldiers at Agona West constituency when Kofi Adams asked us to organise a press conference in the heat of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) and Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) brouhaha,” he recalled.

“We were incarcerated and our belongings and monies were stolen but Kofi Adams did not show any concern to any of us. So what is happening to him today is the law of karma,” he added.

Mr. Birikorang questioned why former President Jerry John Rawlings was still keeping Mr. Adams as his spokesperson when he does not meet his (Rawlings’) hallmark of probity, accountability, transparency and sincerity.
