Takoradi, March 17, GNA - Nana Kofi Coomson, Publisher of the Ghanaian Chronicle newspaper said, he was determined to provide transparent leadership if elected as a Member of Parliament for the Effia-Kwesiminstim Constituency under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said "the constituency will experience massive change when I am elected," he said.
Mr. Coomson made these remarks at a press conference at Takoradi on Monday to launch his aspiration for the Effia-Kwesiminstim constituency. "I promise to serve you if elected..." he stressed. Mr. Coomson pledged to support the 12 wards of the constituency to enable them function effectively.
He said though the constituency had an incumbent MP, it was time for a change.
"I promise to do things differently, and I urge the media to scrutinise all public office holders and to keep them in check" he added.
Mr. Coomson said, he joined the NPP in 1994 through the initiative of one Mr. Joe Bonluuro and has been a member since that time. He said he ceased to be the editor of the Chronicle newspaper in 2006 and therefore was not involved in any stories published in the paper. He, therefore, urged those who had something against the paper to contact the present editor for clarification.
