Kwadaso MP refutes allegations of trading sex for grades

MP for Kwadaso, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko

The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, has strongly refuted allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by an individual using the pseudonym Amuse Bouche.

The allegations surfaced on social media, accusing the MP of soliciting sexual favours to alter grades during his tenure as a lecturer at the University of Ghana.

In response, the MP issued a statement vehemently denying the accusations, stating that no such incident ever occurred, and he does not recall encountering anyone by the name of Amuse Bouche.

He challenged the accuser to step forward publicly, reveal her identity, and formally report the matter to the university authorities for a thorough investigation.

The MP emphasised the importance of providing specific details, such as the year of the alleged incident, the academic programme involved, and the courses he taught, to substantiate the claims.

He also encouraged any other individuals who may have had similar experiences with him to come forward and share their accounts.

Acknowledging the gravity of the allegations, the MP highlighted the University of Ghana's policy on addressing sexual harassment and called on both the accuser and the university to disclose any previous complaints and their outcomes.

Mr Nyarko condemned what he perceived as a deliberate smear campaign aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
