Kwahu West District Assembly Confirm President's nominee

Nkawkaw, July 8, GNA - The Kwahu West District Assembly has confirmed Nana Kofi Kesse, the President's nominee as district chief executive for the district at an emergency meeting of the assembly at Nkawkaw.

All the 24 members of the assembly present voted for him, representing 100 percent.

Nana Kesse is a 55-year-old Deputy Manager of Bank of Ghana. In an address, the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah commended the Assembly members for their massive vote for the President's nominee and urged them to give him the needed support and co-operation to enhance development in the district.

Earlier before the voting, the Regional Minister reminded the members of the assembly that the power of nomination and appointment rest with the President and urged the assembly members whom he would be working with to vote to confirm him to show their support and co-operation.

Nana Kesse thanked the President and the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and urged them to give him the needed assistant and co-operation to move the district to a municipal status within the next four years.

He gave assurance of ensuring fair distribution of the district resources to all the electoral areas to enhance development in the entire district.

The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Nana Osei Bonsu, said the massive vote for the President's nominee is to reciprocate the government's support for the creation of the Kwahu West district and assurance of the co-operation of the members of the assembly.

Among those present at the function were the MP for Nkawkaw, Mr Kwabena Edusa Okerchiri and Obohene, Nana Afare Duagyan, II.
