The defeated incumbent Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma North Constituency, Justice Joe Appiah, has told Kasapa FM his loss in last weekend’s primaries was engineered by former MP for the area, and Party member, Kwamena Bartels.

Joe Appiah told Anopa Kasapa host Fiifi Banson Monday that Bartels whom he beat in 2008 to become aspirant, has since confirmed he was behind a grand scheme to oust him.

“He’s told me he sponsored the woman. I have a text message on my phone that confirms what i am saying.”

A copy of the text in possession of Kasapafmonline.com, and which was sent with a Vodafone phone number reads:

“You lost the primaries miserably. Indeed oh you were lucky; so who is feeling now.”

Kasapafmonline.com can confirm the said text message was sent by Mr. Bartels.

A dejected Joe Appiah who managed only 184 votes as against Nana Akua Afriyie the winner’s 315, and the first runner up Bernard Kofi Ofori’s (a.k.a Bella) 305, told Banson he was hurt by the actions of Bartels.

“I am hurt he did this to me. As a former Cabinet Minister, he should have known better.

“But he didn’t seem to care. He told me he didn’t want me to go for the third time as he did. So it was a deliberate attempt.

“Nana is my in-law so i would work hard for him to win power for. I will help the lady, too.”
