Residents of Lawra have welcomed the decision by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo—Addo, to appoint their member of Parliament as Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways.

Speaking to this reporter, many residents expressed confidence in the MP's ability to discharge his new mandate as Deputy Minister.

Describing their MP as a man passionate about improving the road network especially in rural communities, one resident by name Kuunifaa Kennedy, a businessman from the constituency pointed out that in 2015, Hon. Karbo facilitated the fixing of several roads in deplorable condition within the constituency; this, he stressed, was evidence that given a chance, the MP would help address the poor road network especially in the rural parts of Ghana.

On social media, news of his appointment also received favourable reception with many people congratulating the former National Youth Organizer and former Deputy Director of Communications on his appointment; notable amongst whom was Maame Afia Akoto who worked with Hon. Karbo as Deputy Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party.

Anthony N-yoh Puowele Abayifaa Karbo holds a Master of Science degree in ECONOMIC POLICY AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Development Studies from the University of Development Studies.

Before his election as Member of Parliament for Lawra, Anthony Karbo worked as a Development Policy Analyst at the Savannah Development policy Institute and at the same time serving as Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party.
