On Sunday, September 15, 2024, the serene town of Odumase, nestled within the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, was set alight with enthusiasm as Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah, a renowned legal luminary and passionate advocate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia continued his nationwide tour.

This time, his message resounded loud and clear: the future of Ghana rests in the hands of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia.

The event, themed “Time with Polling Station Women Organizers,” was more than just a political meeting; it was a celebration of unity, hope, and determination.

Organized under the leadership of the Constituency Women’s Organizer, Gifty Ambasaki, and supported by Constituency Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Nuertey Siakwa, alongside Simon Kwaku Tetteh who doubles as the MCE and parliamentary candidate, the auditorium was packed with dedicated NPP members.

The crowd, which was dominated by polling station women organizers and key executives, was eager to hear from one of the most vocal supporters of Dr. Bawumia.

As Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah took the stage, the audience was on the edge of their seats.

His signature phrase, “The soul of the country depends on this year’s election and it is at stake if we fail to vote for the right candidate,” set the tone for what would be a passionate and insightful address.

Lawyer Juanah’s message was clear: Ghana’s progress and prosperity hinge on electing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president.

He didn’t merely talk politics; he offered a historical perspective, tracing Ghana’s challenges back to the NDC’s leadership.

According to him, the unemployment crisis plaguing the country was rooted in the NDC’s mismanagement of state-owned enterprises, starting from the days of Jerry John Rawlings and the AFRC which later became PNDC, and now the NDC.

He highlighted how the NDC, over the years, sold state assets to themselves, leaving ordinary Ghanaians to suffer the consequences.

“The NDC has spent close to 30 years in leadership, What do they have to show for?' Whenever they’re in government, all they do is create and share among themselves without thinking about the ordinary Ghanaian,” he said.

His words struck a chord with the audience as he contrasted the NDC’s record with that of the NPP, especially under the leadership of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Lawyer Juanah reminded the gathering of the numerous social interventions introduced by the NPP; Free Maternal Care, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the Capitation Grant, the School Feeding Program, and LEAP are programs
that were designed to uplift ordinary Ghanaians.

He continued, “When Kufuor left power, Ghana had discovered crude oil in large quantities. But the NDC under Late John Mills and John Mahama mismanaged it. We suffered through dumsor, businesses collapsed, and the economy faltered.”

The excitement in the room was palpable as Lawyer Juanah delved deeper into the NPP’s achievements under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

He spoke about how the current government had worked tirelessly to stabilize the economy, despite inheriting what former President Mahama described as a “meatless economy (Dompe) but has been able to introduce social interventions
like the Free SHS, and Kayeyei Empowerment Program among others.

He praised Dr. Bawumia for introducing digital innovations that have streamlined government services, reduced corruption, and empowered citizens.

“Dr. Bawumia is leading the way with digitization and innovation,” he emphasized, contrasting it with Mahama’s vague promises of a ‘24-hour economy,’ which Lawyer Juanah humorously suggested was something the former president might have heard from someone else.

Lawyer Juanah didn’t just focus on the presidential race.

He took the opportunity to rally support for Simon Kwaku Tetteh, the parliamentary candidate for Lower Manya Krobo, urging the audience to help make history by winning the seat for the first time.

“Dr. Bawumia needs him in parliament. This constituency will make history in the 2024 election. You have to be part of the history makers as polling station women organizers,” he said.

The highlight of his speech, however, was his call to action for the women organizers in the room.

He described them as the “campaign managers” of the party, tasked with spreading the message of hope and progress to every corner of the constituency.

"You seated here are the campaign managers of the party in the Constituency. The victory of both the presidential and parliamentary elections depends on you.”

“We are enduring now for the sake of future progress. Even though the cedi
is not doing as well as we all expect, the lights are on. Remember, when the cedi was 4 to 1 dollar, we were in dumsor,” he added.

The government of Nana Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has made a significant impact on policy transformation and infrastructure development, notably through initiatives like the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP-2024).

This program focuses on improving road networks across the country, particularly in underserved districts, facilitating better transportation and boosting local
economies.

Other examples include the One District One Factory initiative and the expansion of healthcare infrastructure.

These policies are vital as they enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth, improve access to healthcare, and ultimately raise the standard of living for Ghanaians.

DRIP-2024, in particular, is critical for promoting regional development and ensuring that remote areas are integrated into the national economy.

In his closing remarks, Lawyer Charles Owusu Juanah appealed for unity and forgiveness among party members, urging them to put aside any grievances for the greater good of the party and the country.

“Let’s forgive whoever may have offended us and focus on campaigning vigorously for the NPP to retain power,” he added.

On her part, the Constituency Women Organizer, Gifty Ambasaki, expressed her gratitude to Lawyer Juanah and his team.

She assured him that the women of Lower Manya Krobo would take the message to the villages, markets, and homes to secure a massive victory for Dr. Bawumia and Simon Kwaku Tetteh in the upcoming election.
