Jinsar Abdul-Matheen, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress, has congratulated John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of Ghana in the December 7, 2024, elections.

In a statement via his social media pages, General Matheen, as he is known in political circles, described the victory of John Mahama as historic and unprecedented.

General Matheen noted that the margin of victory is indicative of the soundness of John Mahama’s win and the readiness of Ghanaians to accept him as the man who can transform their lives.

General Matheen, who once contested the position of deputy national organiser of the party, noted that John Mahama’s 24-hour economy promise resonated well with Ghanaians and that the policy would be a game-changer.

“I wish to congratulate the great umbrella party and our leader, John Mahama, for this unprecedented victory. Never in the history of the Fourth Republic has a party won an election by such a huge margin, and I want to congratulate JM and the team for the victory,” he said.

General Matheen also commended the entire NDC leadership and their rank and file for their outstanding work during the campaign period and their vigilance on election day.

He believes victory would not have been possible without the commitment of every party member.

“I want to commend our National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the entire leadership of the party, and the rank and file of our great party. We have done great work to kick out the elephant party, and I want to applaud everyone,” he said.

The accomplished businessman also reminded the NDC of their commitment to Ghanaians, noting that the victory is an expression of Ghanaians' responsibility to the NDC.

He urged them to work hard and ensure that the John Mahama administration became a successful one and changed the lives of Ghanaians.
