The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Obimpeh, has cautioned the party’s supporters against complacency, urging everybody to accept to work hard and make the needed sacrifices to win the November 7 polls by a comfortable margin.
He said the achievements of the government had been phenomenal and that, “this success story must be told loudly”.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, he stated that the region has had its fair share of development, citing the improvement of roads, education infrastructure, health, water, and sanitation facilities.
He therefore expressed optimism that the people would reward this with their votes - to retain the NDC in power.
He said it would however be a big mistake to take any chances and that was why all would have to go from house-to-house to assist voters to make the right decision on the voting day.
He underlined the determination of the regional executive of the party to work with all members and supporters to substantially increase the party’s share of votes.
He invited their political opponents to join them to ensure clean and decent electioneering campaign devoid of insults and inflammatory language.
That, he said, was important to protect the peace, stave off needless political tension ahead of the elections and grow the nation’s democracy
