The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) on Monday commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for the conducive environment created for the ongoing Limited Registration Exercise.

β€œIn the judgement of the LPG, the electoral management body has been transparent in dealings with all political parties,” Mrs Margaret Obrian Sarfo, PLG General Secretary stated at a press conference in Accra.

The press conference was chaired by Mr John Amekah, Acting Chairman of the Party and Mr Jerry Owusu, National Organiser and other national executives.

The Party said the EC had organised the exercise in an efficient manner and that the LPG was quite impressed with how peaceful the exercise had been in spite of the minor hiccups across some centers.

Mrs Sarfo, however, urged the EC to continuously strengthen measures to ensure that the exercise ends successfully.

The LPG General Secretary urged all Ghanaians, who had turned 18 years and above but had not yet registered to partake in the ongoing registration to get their names in the electoral register.

Mrs Sarfo said the party sent out a monitoring team, who had so far visited some registration centres in all the sixteen regions across the country to observe the exercise and so far it had been fairly smooth.
