Lying Veep has no moral right to respond to Bawumia - NPP

Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur

The decision by the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur not to respond to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's state of Ghana's economy is due to his lies that have created astronomical debt for Ghana, a communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said on Rainbow Radio.

Mr. Asamoah Gyemfi speaking on Eboboba said, the former governor of the Central Bank cannot respond to Dr. Bawumia because he lacks the credibility to do so.

The Vice President has declined to respond to Dr. Bawumia's statement because he was advised not to do so.

While addressing party faithful at the manifesto launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Sunyani, Vice President Amissah-Arthur said: "When I said I was going to respond, one of my former colleagues in Legon called me and said the man is doing politics, he is not doing economics so do not answer him with economics.

Go on a political platform and tell him." But speaking to Kwabena Agyapong, Asamoah Gyemfi said that, the Vice President lied to the IMF over Ghana's economic prospects and that has caused the country dearly.

And so, he [Amissah-Arthur] is unfit to respond to Bawumia. He was speaking in response to the 'setting the records straight' addressed by the Transport Minister, Fifi Kwetey.

According to him, the NDC failed to respond to the facts and figures stated by Dr. Bawumia in his lecture and rather engaged in vilification and unnecessary attacks.

''The Vice President is the number one liar and so he does not have the standing to accuse someone of lying, because you have lied and Ghana has incurred a lot of debt. The NDC failed to respond Dr. Bawumia's state of Ghana's economy. They failed to respond to the figures stated by Bawumia.''

The NDC he posited, has worsen the plight of the poor due to their incompetence, mismanagement and corrupt practices.

Meanwhile, a communications team member of the governing NDC, Koku Mawuli Nanegbe disputed his claims stating that, the setting the records straight team exposed the lies by the NPP.
