A youth group of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling itself ‘NDC Diehards’ has attacked Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah for declaring intention to run for the 2020 party’s presidential candidate slot.
According to them, it is not time for the former Trade and Industry Minister in the previous NDC administration to make statements indicating needs a new face to go for the next general election.
“I have read a submission made by Dr Ekow Spio-Gabrah that NDC needs a new face for 2020 polls to prove that NDC has the men. …On the contrary, the writings on the walls say the opposite that, JDM [John Dramani Mahama] must come back”, leader of the group stated in a rebuttal.
The General Secretary of NDC Diehards, Joe Kwei said in response to a publication attributed to Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah stressing the need for the party to go to the 2020 polls with a credible and new candidate
“On this note, I will like to implore Dr Spio to stop the ironic proposal, calculated for his self-campaign, since he unveiled himself a flagbearer hopeful if you ask me, while nominations aren’t opened yet”, Mr. Joe Kwei signed in a release.
According to him, members of the party and Ghanaians electorates are calling for former President John Mahama to lead NDC and Ghana, not a new face.
“NDC cum Ghana at large is lamenting for the comeback of JDM in 2020 Not a new a face”, Mr. Joe Kwei captioned the three-paragraph release.
