'Mahama good for election, not administration’- Lecturer

A Political Science and Professional and Business Ethics Lecturer at the Methodist University College, Dr. Osei Bonsu Owusu says President John Dramani Mahama is "an election president but not an administrative president.”

He explained that the president is only interested in winning elections than improving the lives of ordinary Ghanaians. He said the president has already failed, adding he has been campaigning ever since he came into government.

Dr. Bonsu, who was Speaking on Atinka FM News on Wednesday, was reacting to claims by the president that the election petition wasted one year of his first term. He challenged Mr. President to cease the blame game because no one is responsible for his failure.

“If the president and his administration have failed the people, he has to apologize to Ghanaians and not put the blame on something else,” he charged.

The Political science lecturer said the election petition did not prevent the president from being sworn–in neither did it prevent him from appointing his ministers and that he has no excuse for his failures.

“The election petition did not also prevent people from paying taxes and contractors did not also stop working because of the petition, so he has no excuse,” he said.

He said the president and his administration had enough time to deliver judiciously, adding the election petition did not affect him in any way. He must not engage needless blame game, he said.
