Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan says President John Dramani Mahama has been very wicked to Northerners.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwamena Duncan noted that the President is lavishing huge sums of money on himself at the expense of his own people in the northern sector of the economy.

He was commenting on the just-ended campaign launch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium over the weekend.

According to him, the governing party's event held on Sunday was a complete display of opulence.

He said the President expended exorbitant amounts of money on his campaign launch when Ghana's economy is crippling under his management.

He expressed worry over the fleet of luxurious Toyota Land Cruisers that were dispersed across the premises of the campaign launch over the weekend.

To Kwamena Duncan, President John Mahama has not been kind to his own people in the North.

He stated that when President Mahama is exhibiting his opulent lifestyle, his people are complaining about the poor water systems coupled with other economic challenges in their vicinities.

“When you go to the Northern Region, Upper East, Upper West and look at their living conditions, then President Mahama has been wicked to his people. He has been very [very] wicked.”

Kwamena Duncan was also of a strong view that President John Mahama has become unpopular within his own party folks, and that's why the attendees at the campaign launch had to desert him in the middle of his address at the Cape Coast Stadium.
