An NDC stalwart in the Greater Accra Region and former Parliamentarian says his life is at risk for opposing the return of former President John Dramani Mahama to lead the opposition party in the 2020 polls.

The former Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale, claims some supporters of the former president whom he described as “bulldogs” have threatened him to rescind his decision or face their wrath.

“His [John Mahama] people have started calling me to threaten me. The likes of Araba Tagoe and Appiah Stadium, those bulldogs called me to insult me,” He said during a panel discussion on Neat FM’s morning show dubbed, ‘Ghana Montie’ .

Nii Amasah Namoale expressed bitterness about the decision of some top echelons of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to impose former President John Dramani Mahama on the party ahead of 2020.

He was emphatic that, the decision of the party is warmly welcomed, but indirectly cautioned against the choice of Mr. Mahama as flag bearer of the party for 2020, saying it will cause the NDC to stay in opposition for years.
