Manly-Spain tipped to win G/A NDC Chairmanship

Mr Henry Ekow Manly-Spain, a leading contender of the Greater Accra chairmanship race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been tipped to win the position at congress in October this year.

Mr Manly-Spain is an embodiment of peace and unity and, if elected the Chairman, the NDC party would be more unified to win the 2016 elections, three staunch members of NDC said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

“No party can win elections with divisions among its members; we need to work as one people to emerge victorious and Mr Manly-Spain is one of a kind,” a member, who pleaded anonymity, said.

Mr Manly-Spain would win the contest because his messages were issues based and well tailored to the appropriate quarters without insults and attacks, he said.

The members said they were impressed about how the aspirant had, within a short time, identified with party members and the people in the region which could help win more votes for the NDC.

The chairmanship is being contested by Mr Joseph Ade-Coker, the incumbent Regional Chairman, Mr Manly-Spain, Mr Daniel Amartey Mensah, a former Municipal Chief Executive for Ledjorkuku Krowo, Nii Tackie Commey and Mr Stephen Akwetey, both party gurus.

The elections are scheduled for October 5, 2014, when the NDC would be holding its National and Regional Congress.
