The NPP has heavily criticized former Attorney General, Marietta Brew for allowing herself to be used by the NDC to deny claims that Airbus paid bribes to some high-ranking officials during the Mills and Mahama administrations.

Madam Brew Appiah Oppong, earlier this week, issued a press statement on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahama saying it is a gross distortion for the media to conclude that officials of the Ghana government between 2009 and 2015 were bribed by Airbus for the acquisition of the Casa C-295 aircraft.

She also indicated per the statement that the media misrepresented facts as happened in the court.

But NPP’s Director of Communications, Yaw Buaben Asamoa at a press conference in Accra, condemned the former Attorney General for allowing herself to be controlled by her party members.

“A former attorney general of this dear republic of Ghana, Marrietta Brew Oppong who chose to allow herself to be used to issue a statement on the letterhead of the NDC in a matter that is beyond salvage. The matter at hand is a judgment against Airbus SE. yet Instead of going through a trial, the guilty party engages prosecutors,” he stated.
