Mills Leads 85% In GAME Polls

The Tema wing of Get Atta Mills Elected (GAME) says latest opinion polls conducted by its outfit in the ten regions of the country puts the President, Professor John Mills at 85% ahead of his close rival Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.

The poll results according to them surpass the 2007 votes garnered by then candidate Mills and point to the observation by political watchers that he NDC delegates are conservative voters.

Basing their confidence of President Mills’s bright chances on a quasi-opinion poll conducted in various constituencies across the country, they asserted that Ghana’s chief executive’s victory, come July 10, in Sunyani will not be as a result of incumbency advantage, but an endorsement of his good works and “father for all” system of governance felt in all circles of the economy.

GAME is warming up to pitch their camp in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region to lobby undecided delegates to throw their weight behind Prof. Mills for an overwhelming victory at the national congress, the paper can confirm.

Speaking in an interview with The Heritage newspaper, Emmanuel Nikoi Dsane, coordinator of Ashaiman GAME group, said polls conducted by the group to ascertain the chances of President Mills across the country suggest that he will win the congress by 85%.

According to him, their move is motivated by the selfless spirit of good leadership which has been amply demonstrated by the Mills administration hence, the need to support the second term bid of Prof. Mills.

He explained that President Mills’s humility, honesty and integrity are the trump card that will win him votes and unite the umbrella family to retain power come 2012.

Mr. Dsane asserted that the Mills’ administration has created an enabling environment that allows the rule of law and human rights of the ordinary citizenry to be guaranteed. “The president is focused on delivering on his Better Ghana Agenda. The current NDC government has expended on the rights of Ghanaians and facilitated the flourish of unprecedented infrastructural development across the length and breadth of the country,” he stressed.

He contended as stalwarts of the NDC, President Mills has worked hard enough to justify his re-election of another term by Ghanaians to enable him complete his agenda of improving the wellbeing of the ordinary citizen and enhancing the diplomatic image which the country enjoys.

He said in view of their strong belief in democracy and competitive politics, “we are confident that the NDC and Ghana stands to benefit when Prof. Mills is given an opportunity to serve another term.”

The GAME coordinator reiterated appeals on the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, to step down for the President Mills to live the vision of making Ghana better place for every Ghanaian.

He sounded caution that changing of the mills administration could prove disastrous for the electoral chances of the NDC in the 2012 general elections.
