For the second day running several dozens of aggrieved NPP supporters trouped to the NPP National Head quarters to protest against certain actions of the national executives.
The protesters who came from Greater Region and beyond have among other things accused the National executives of attempting to impose certain unpopular parliamentary aspirants on them and also trying to disqualified aspirants who are seen as threats to their favourites.
By about 10 o?clock am, the protestants were already at the party?s headquarters at Kokomlemle carrying placards some of which read ?stop imposing candidates on us: The grassroots is the power? etc. It took the presence of the Police from the Panther Unit to prevent the protesters from entering the forecourt of the party Headquarters.
However attempts by the national organiser of the party, Mr Lord Commey to calm down the situation ended up exciting them the more. Mr Commey was not perturbed by their vituperations and utterances but told the protestants that their demonstrations won?t change the decisions of the party executives.
He stated that some of the parliamentary aspirants were seeking only the interest of their families and themselves, therefore party members should not allow themselves to be sued by the aspiring candidates for their selfish interest.
