'Movement for Better Ghana' to counter AFAG's ‘Wonkyedi’ demo

A group calling itself ‘Movement for Better Ghana’ is organizing a counter demonstration on July 31 to the ‘Wonkyedi’ demo by Pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG).

AFAG is hitting the streets in Takoradi on July 31 to press for the immediate halt of payment of controversial judgment debts.

According to AFAG, the state has failed to make any commitment to retrieving monies paid as judgment debts, back into the state coffers.

The Sunyani demonstration by the Movement for Better Ghana seeks to expose the level of judgment debts the former NPP administration incurred.

Spokesperson for the group, Francis Dodovi in an interview with XYZ News said Ghanaians will know after the demonstration how the mismanagement of the NPP government has led to the payment of several judgment debts by the state.

“We want to demonstrate to the whole world that the NPP administration in their eight years, as a result of hatred and recklessness has left this government a lot of judgment debts.

“But they [NPP] are presenting it as if President Mills is a corrupt person who just hides at the castle and distributes monies to individuals and his cronies knowing very well that President Mills is not that type”. **
