The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako, has criticised Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his "needless" comparison of President Akufo-Addo's achievements to those of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

Speaking on Peace FM, he expressed his disapproval of NAPO's comments, stating that they were a "distraction" from the real issues at stake in the pending elections.

"The comparison is completely irrelevant and needless. It's a distraction from the real issues at stake, particularly with the national elections looming," he said.

He chastised NAPO for not focusing on the achievements of the NPP.

"You don't provide ammunition for your opponents or neutrals. It's needless and lacks relevance. I'm disappointed in him. He should focus on the election and paint a positive picture for his party," he added.

He further said that ideologically, NAPO may be right, but he is disappointed in him for using such a platform for ideological banter.

“There is nothing wrong with him if he thinks Akufo-Addo has done better than Nkrumah. We can’t think the same way but the occasion, he must focus on election and paint a picture that positive for your ticket,” Kweku Baako added.

NAPO's comments have sparked widespread outrage and disbelief, with many questioning the relevance of the comparison.

Some political pundits have predicted that the gaffe could harm the NPP's chances in the December general elections.

Kweku Baako's criticism adds to the growing chorus of disapproval against NAPO's comments.
