The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has taken a break from his campaign as the running mate of the New Patriotic Party, following the resumption of Parliament on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

During the conduct of parliamentary business on Tuesday, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was spotted on the floor of the House engaging in a chitchat with some of his colleagues.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who first became a legislator in 2017, was re-elected MP for Manhyia South in the 2020 parliamentary elections.

He served as Minister for Education in the first term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government and was subsequently appointed Minister of Energy in the president’s second term.

He received his party’s endorsement when the flagbearer of the NPP, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, named him as his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh whose current parliamentary term expires on January 7, 2025, has in the past few months been crisscrossing the country on a campaign trail.
