After the NPP NEC confirmed Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh's nomination as a running mate, a Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr Kwasi Amakye-Boateng is optimistic that the party will attract floating voters to their side on December 7.
During an appearance on the TV3 New Day show on Friday, July 5, 2024, Dr Amakye-Boateng expressed his belief that NAPO will be able to rally and unite the party's grassroots, ultimately improving the party's prospects, as reported by 3news.com.
Dr Amakye-Boateng also suggested that NAPO will complement Dr Bawumia by influencing the decisions of floating voters in areas where Dr Bawumia may have fallen short.
He feels that the Vice President did not fulfil his promises made prior to the 2016 elections.
Additionally, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's tendency to avoid taking responsibility for his government's failures and rushing to claim credit for projects and achievements may be a concern for the party leading up to the December elections.
The NPP is set to officially introduce Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh in the Ashanti region following his confirmation by the National Executive Council on Thursday, July 4.
