The Greater Accra Regional Caucus and the Young Democrats a Pro-NDC youth group have endorsed Mr Adjei Annan to retain his seat as a member of the Council of State.
They expressed the hope that in the coming election slated for February 6th when regional representatives for the Council of State would be elected at the Local Government Training Center, the district assembly representatives would vote for him to represent the Region.
In an interview with the GNA, Sam Attuquaye Quaye, the spokesperson for the Young Democrats and deputy Greater Accra Regional Secretary, said Mr Annan had over the years played a valuable role for the development of the region.
He said Mr Annan who is an affable elderly statesman, had over the years mentored several of the youthful parliamentarians of the region.
Mr Quaye said the Mr Annan was also one of the longest serving District Chief Executives when he served the Tema and Dangbe Districts and was the former president and general secretary of the National Association of Local Authorities in the country.
He said Mr Annan who was trained as a teacher in 1962 currently manages a 22 acre mango plantation and with his wealth of experience both in the private and public sector, he would play a useful role in advising the President and help to foster the needs of the Region.
