An NDC top brass meeting called on Thursday to hear the version of disgraced NDC General Secretary, Josiah Aryeh on his clandestine meeting with NPP top guns failed to reach any decision.
Mr. Aryeh failed to attend that meeting.
The Opposition National Democratic Congress says it is awaiting General Secretary Josiah Aryeh?s version of the events leading up to his clandestine meeting with the NPP?s First National Vice Chairman, Stephen Ntim before it can officially comment on the matter.
The National Executive Council of the party held a crisis meeting yesterday to discuss what some analysts have described as the biggest set back to the to the party?s quest to wrestle power from the ruling NPP.
A taped conversation between Dr Aryeh and Mr. Ntim was leaked to the media on Tuesday raising speculations that the NDC General Secretary planned to defect to the NPP.
But Dr Aryeh insists that his chat with Mr Ntim was a private conversation and that he did not discuss any plans to leave the party.
Speaking to Joy News after the meeting, Deputy General Secretary, Bede Zideng said the party hierarchy could not make a pronouncement on the matter because Dr Aryeh did not attend the meeting to give first hand account of what transpired between himself and Mr Ntim. Mr Zideng however, declined to comment on whether the party believed Dr Aryeh was set up by his political opponents.
