A former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has raised concerns about the decision by the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to hold their final rallies in Greater Accra at locations close to each other.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the private legal practitioner described the arrangement as a poor security decision and called for immediate intervention to avoid potential clashes between party supporters.

“It is not advisable for one party to hold a rally at Legon while the other does so at Madina. If I were the Minister for National Security, I would engage both parties and encourage one of them to relocate or change their date,” he stated.

Mr. Boahen urged security agencies to mediate and ensure one party changes its rally venue or date to prevent any unforeseen incidents. He stressed the importance of compromise, adding that the security institutions must act decisively to address the issue.
