Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Issaka Jajah, has stated that his contention for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries is riding on the back of the youth.
The youth, who constitute about 80 percent of delegates of the constituency, he said, have witnessed, testified and felt the impact of his performance and ready to endorse him again to represent them in the 2020 general elections.
He stated that with support of the constituency executives and the hardworking masses of the NDC, he is looking forward to getting the highest number of votes in the general election
Issaka Jajah made these claims when he, amid pomp and pageantry, filed his nomination at the NDC Constituency office in Kotobabi, followed by a huge crowd of sympathizers.
19th July 2019 was closing date for filing of nomination for the parliamentary primaries and aspirants went through the procedure across the country to beat the deadline except in constituencies where the process has been postponed.
Issaka Jajah indicated that the difference he is bringing aboard this time is the distinction he has made between his performance and that of his predecessor.
He promised there will be innovations in the processes to get quality results but decided to hold his cards close to his chest till he wins the primaries.
According to him, his achievements speak for themselves across all sectors namely sanitation, education and development projects.
“And the evidence is there for all to see and to support my nomination.”
“The people of Ayawaso North have been able to see the good works that I have been able to do within this short period.”
“This performance comes on the back of the fact that though I won the parliamentary seat, my government is not in power.”
“Even in opposition, I have been able to do more, in two and half years, than my predecessor‘s 16 years of achievement and records.”
He expressed gratitude to Allah for making it possible for him to file his nomination and urged his teeming supporters to crank up the campaign to ensure landslide in the primaries and the national elections.
Yussif Jajah will be slugging it out again with his predecessor, Dr Mustapha Ahmed, who has also picked and successfully filed his nomination forms.
