NDC Regional secretary Chastises Sir John

Joseph yammin, Ashanti Regional NDC secretary is accusing the General secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party of always rushing to respond to issues irrespective of his level of knowledge on the issues.

According to a release issued by Mr. Yammin, it was unnecessary for Mr. Owusu Afriyie otherwise known as Sir John to respond to the answers given by President John Evans Atta Mills when he met news Editors at the castle recently. “The position of a general secretary is so powerful that whenever a statement comes out from him it carries a lot of weight. But what we see in the general secretary of the NPP is RUSH AND FAIL”, he said.

“If all promises of political parties are fulfilled in their mandated periods then what happened to the 100,000 jobs in 100 days promised by the NPP government of which in 8 years could only boast of 108,000 NYEP jobs,… what about the commissioning of the shoe factory on the 8th of December of which a year was not given by the then Ashanti Regional Minister Hon S.K. Boafo? This was in 2004 but never saw the light of the day till the NPP left power”, he said.

The NDC activist emphasized that Sir John has no justification for criticizing the president, refuting an earlier assertion that the president gave conflicting figures in some of his answers and in turn pointed an accusing finger at the John Agyekum Kufour - led NPP government of giving conflicting figures as cost of the castle renovation.

He praised the President for paying a substantial amount of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) debt as well as paying attention to the National Health Insurance Scheme and ensuring that Ghanaians will soon enjoy a one time premium payment for the NHIS.

The NDC secretary urged the NPP to ratheruse their time and other resources to market their party and her candidate instead of trying to find fault with President Mills and his NDC government.
