NDC Youth Organiser calls for peace within the party

Cape Coast, May 2, GNA - The Central Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ato Amoah, has called for calm within the party. "We the youth in the Central Region appeal to all members of the party engulfed in the impasse to bury the hatchet for peace to prevail," Mr Amoah pleaded.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Cape Coast at the weekend, Mr Amoah said the youth were disturbed about the recent events in NDC and urged those involved to do what was right in order not to destroy the party, which is a legacy for the youth. He appealed to members of the party to desist from making unguarded statements, which could compound the problem rather than solving it.

The Youth Organiser commended President Mills for appointing a good number of youth into his Government and expressed satisfaction with their performance so far.

Experience, Mr Amoah, could only be gained while working on the job and described the criticism levelled against President Mills for appointing 93Team B" players into government, as untenable. Mr Amoah commended the New Patriotic Party for successfully electing their parliamentary candidates in peaceful primaries. He urged them to make the 2012 electioneering campaign peaceful devoid of insults and acrimony.

Democracy, Mr Amoah said, had travelled a long way in Ghana, so we must be doing away with all things, which made politics dirty to enable respectable citizens to feel proud to enter it.
