Accra, July 11 GNA- Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Joseph Karbo Davies was on Sunday, elected as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the new Adenta constituency at a delegates congress at Ogbojo, near Madina.
He polled 52 votes to beat two other contestants, Mr. Yao Tamakloe and Alhaji Ali Pelpo who polled 32 and 23 votes respectively. An official from the Electoral Commission (EC) supervised the election, which was held in a calm atmosphere.
Lt Col Karbo Davies thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and said he would work with his two challengers to win the seat for the NDC.
He urged the delegates to close their ranks in order to ensure total victory at the December polls.
Lt Col Karbo Davies said because Ogbojo and adjoining communities are new and developing, his priority would be to provide the people with portable water, drainage and roads.
He said he would also make sure that security in the area was improved by providing a Police station and a first class school for the people.
